VideoSlots Casino has recently added a very interesting online slot titled Humpty Dumpty from a less well-known developer called Push Gaming, our first impressions upon loading this 5×3 reel 25 pay line slot was that it seemed very reminiscent visually to some of some of the older Quickspin slot releases.

On playing Humpty Dumpty we were pleasantly surprised to see several nice unique slot features and although it that may look cartoon like in theme, comes with a much more serious pay table with some really good win potential on offer particularly during the bonus round.

Although the cartoon theme may have been seen before, we definitely think there are several reasons to check out this slot release, it is not very often we are so surprised by a slot that we continue to play it over and over again to check out the bonus round more times!

Humpty Dumpty Slot – Base gameplay

There are a variety of different symbols present on the reels all using a cartoon theme, the highest paying symbols are also heavily stacked on all of the reels, there are also some special Falling Wilds, which will nudge one position down the reels and potentially create new pays, and these are also present in the bonus round too and can create some really impressive successive win streaks.

The main scatter symbol is Humpty Dumpty and is present on only reel 3, to trigger the free spins round you need to land this large symbol to completely cover reel 3 which will then trigger the bonus round and grants 6 Free Spins.

Humpty Dumpty Slot – Bonus Round

Once the bonus round is triggered the player is granted 6 Free Spins, there is a new mechanic in place during the free spins round with lots of special heart symbols scattered over the middle 3 reels (2,3,4), if anyone of these symbols land on the reels during the free spins they are collected and stored and displayed in a meter above the reel, if 3 hearts are collected on any of these reels they will then turn into wild reels for the remainder of the bonus round.

In total it’s possible to turn reels 2,3,4 completely wild, although with 6 spins this can be quite difficult but definitely possible (see screenshots), for players who have played slots such as Black Knight (WMS) you will know just how exciting this bonus can become.

Along with this mechanic, the special Falling Wilds Re-Spin Feature is also active in the bonus, and will nudge down and create new wins too, once you have several wild reels this nudging mechanic can lead to some very nice strings of successive wins.

The RTP (Return to Player) for Humpty Dumpty slot is a very decent 96.47%, and we managed several bonus rounds of over 50x stake, with our best topping 100x easily.

Overall Thoughts

A very pleasant surprise from Push Gaming, our instant reaction on loading the slot was “Looks like a Quickspin Slot”, but this quickly turned into a “This slot is actually pretty damn good!” once playing, the cartoon theme will not be for everyone but the paytables are good enough to definitely check it out.

For players who have previously enjoyed slots like Black Knight from WMS should definitely seek this slot out, and players who appreciate the design of Quickspin slots but seek a little more volatility in their slots.
