Vera and John Casino has just added the brand new 7 Sins slot from Play’n Go to their casino which is a 5×3 reel 243-way slot, focusing on the 7 deadly sins the slot reels have a number of high paying symbols which are each a different sin (Vanity, Wrath, Gluttony, Sloth, Envy, Lust and Avarice).
Along with this dark theme, there are a number of different bonus features included such as double paying wild symbols that enable you to score 7 of a kind wins, a second chance feature giving you an extra chance to trigger the main bonus and a free spins bonus round with rising multipliers up to 7x.
7 Sins Slot – Base Gameplay
The base game in 7 Sins has regular Lucky 7 wilds symbols on reels 1, 3,5 and the special Double Lucky 7 wilds which are only present on reels 2 and 4, if these form part of a winning combination then they count as double the amount of symbols meaning it’s possible to score 7 of a kind wins and this is where all of the really big wins seem to be lurking on this slot.
As an example, a full 7 of a kind wild win pays a massive 700x stake, the highest paying regular symbol combined with 2 Double Lucky 7 wilds pays an impressive 250x stake, below that however the pays are quite low, so definitely bear that in mind that in regular play this slot might look fairly tame, but there is definitely some decent win potential in both the base game and bonus round.
7 Sins Slot – Bonus Features
The main free spins bonus round on 7 sins is triggered by landing 3 of the special Pandora’s Box Scatter symbols on reels 1, 3 and 5 only, there is also a special “Second Chance” feature which triggers when just 2 scatter symbols land on the reels, once triggered you are granted 7 free spins with a rising multiplier feature.
Second Chance Feature
If you manage to land just 2 scatters on the reels you will trigger the second chance feature where you must then pick one of the seven sins and this will either reveal cash reward up to 15x, no win or a 3rd Scatter that triggers the main bonus round.
7 Sins Slot – Free Spins Round
When the main bonus round is triggered you are awarded 7 free spins, during each of these spins the middle reel is transformed into 1 of the 7 sins and stays fixed in place covering the entire reel for that spin, all of the other symbols are removed from the other reels apart from the matching sin, meaning you must at least have matching symbols on reels 1 and 2 to score any win.
After each spin is completed a multiplier rises in value, meaning that during the 7th spin you are playing with a 7x multiplier.
The 7 Sins slot from Play’N Go has a theoretical RTP (Return To Player) of 96.28%.
Overall Thoughts on 7 Sins Slot
The 7 Sins Slot from Play’n Go is a rather unusual combination of features, the base game feels very reminiscent of the classic Immortal Romance with its 243-ways, double paying wilds and the heartbeat sound effects after each spin.
In regular play the slot seems to play out as a rather low variance slot, however, if you check out the paytable there are some huge wins on offer for the 7 of a kind wins during base game play when the Double 7 wilds are present, but there is a massive jump when you look at the 6 of a kind wins, maybe a little too extreme for our liking.
We found the main bonus round to be a little disappointing, as it becomes clear very quickly whether you are going to win or lose on the spin with just 1 symbol present on the reels and so you are just waiting for the remaining reels to stop on what is effectively a dead spin, along with the second chance feature that rewards a maximum of 15 stake wins, a bonus trigger, or simply awards nothing.
Overall a nicely designed slot from Play’n GO but we found it somewhat underwhelming during our playtests, with a slightly too highly skewed paytable on offer.
