Overall Opinions
Conan is a visually fantastic release from NetEnt, both the graphics and sounds effect do a great job of setting the scene of the Conan universe, the gameplay, however, felt like there were almost a bit too many features going on to give the slot any consistency. The linked reels are nowhere near as potent as on slot like Twin Spin, the number of mini-features added to this release would have made that impossible but the base gameplay just felt a bit lacklustre because of the number of small wins, even 3 linked sets of reels can produce a non-winning spin.
The free spins options felt like a stripped away base game as a result, and honestly, in our playtests, we really struggled to get any bonus round wins over 100x stake, it is definitely possible since there is a 6 scatter bonus trigger! but we found the best results from the Mystery Stacks option being the highest variance free spins option to choose from.
Overall we were a little disappointed in Conan, it felt like the variance and volatility has been tuned down in order to appeal to a broader more casual slot player when this could have been made an iconic high variance big-hitting slot.
