The main bonus round is triggered by landing 4 or more scatters anywhere on the reels, you are then presented with an options screen to select which free spins option you want to select.

Selecting the Sunset Free Spins option awards you 8 starting free spins for a regular bonus trigger and 2 extra spins for each additional scatter, this is the more standard Megaways bonus option with rising multipliers awarded for each successive win and re-triggers from 3 or more scatters.

The Desperados Wild Megaways Slot from inspired is a reasonable release, certainly, no awards are going to be won from the graphics which are very basic, but the introduction of sticky wilds into a Megaways slot is definitely going to appeal to fans of super high variance machines.
The potential for this particular feature is huge, but you are also going to have to accept lots of disappointing bonus rounds if you opt for this feature too.
In our playtests we focused on the sticky wilds bonus option and had wins ranging from 1x to well over 200x stake with plenty more potential given the chance of multiple sticky reels that can be formed in large megaways reels.
There is also a nice note in the instructions which is probably reasonable advice too, to attain the maximum theoretical RTP they recommend opting for the regular free spins with a normal scatter trigger and selecting the sticky free spins with 5 or scatter triggers.
This is probably a good benchmark for deciding which option to choose after our playtesting, the free spins gamble seems way too risky to attempt with real money given the difficulty of bonus triggers in the first place.
