Dragon’s Temple – new oriental themed slot from IGT

Mr Green Casino has just added a brand new online slot from IGT to their casino, titled Dragon’s Temple, this new slot is an oriental themed release with a 5×4 reel layout and 50 paylines, playing the slot does give that land based casino feel and that is definitely a major positive.

This new IGT slot release looks to have received quite an upgrade to the user interface, and although we are not a major fan of the IGT slots in general, some good improvements seem to have been made in the way that this slot plays, there are some minor annoyances though too!

The base game is a fairly standard affair with special wild symbols on each reel that act as expanding wilds when they land on the reels, given that this is a 50 payline slot the wild reels can definitely help to create lots of winning combinations especially when several land on the reels during 1 spin.

The main free spins bonus round is triggered by landing 3 of the special Ying Yang Scatter symbols, which are present on reels 2,3 and 4 only, this then triggers the main feature where the player can choose between 3 different free sp[ins round with varying volatility.

Check out the promotional video below to see the expanding wilds feature and free spins bonus round in action.

Dragon’s Temple Slot – Bonus Round

Once the main bonus round has been triggered the player has a choice of 3 different options, the main difference being the number of wild reels granted during each free spin and the total number of free spins granted.

The 3 bonus options are as follows,

  • 15 Free Spins – Reel 3 is Wild for every free spin
  • 10 Free Spins – Reels 2 and 4 are Wild for every free spin
  • 5 Free Spins – Reels 1, 3 and 5 are Wild for every free spin

Overall Thoughts

Overall Dragon’s Temple is an ok slot release, it doesn’t offer anything too groundbreaking in terms of design, but it offers a fairly exciting bonus round especially if you opt for less free spins and more wild reels.

The major annoyance in terms of design however, is the “Win count up”, even for wins that are paying less than 1x stake, the slot seem to take an age in presenting these totals, thankfully this can be skipped, and if you look just above the spin button you can see the total win in text  before this super slow win count up has even finished.

For big wins we have no issue with spectacular and noisy win animations, but for less than 1x stake the win should be presented much quicker.
