Garden of Riches is a regular 10 payline Novomatic slot with one of the most exciting and possibly rewarding bonus rounds out there. The base game is a fairly standard affair with wild symbols and reasonably high paying 5 of a kind wins. Still, during the bonus round, the triggering scatters are held in place (sticky wilds), with any further wilds being held in place for the duration of the bonus round.

It should be noted that Novomatic slots are generally much higher variance than other slot developers. Still, the Garden of Fortune slot machine is very high variance even compared to the rest of the Novomatic slots range, with a 5/5 volatility rating by Greentube.

As with most Novomatic slots, the bonus round is where all the magic happens. This is triggered by landing 3 or more of the Lady Scatter symbol on the reels. Once triggered, the “Scatter Wilds” are held in place on the reels before the 10 free spins bonus round begins.

Garden of Riches – Sticky Wilds Bonus Round

The free spins bonus round in Garden of Riches is definitely where the main excitement lies. With the original bonus, triggering scatter symbols held in place, and the player is awarded 10 free spins, there is no re-trigger function during this round, unlike many other Novomatic slots.

During the free spins, any further wild symbols landing on the reels are also held in place (Sticky Wilds), so things can get very exciting and rewarding quickly.

Garden of Riches – Jackpot Feature

There is another interesting element to Garden of Riches in that it also contains a Progressive Jackpot style feature. If you fill the screen with wild symbols during the bonus round, the Jackpot is awarded (see screenshot above).

The jackpot has an initial Starting value of 5000x Stake. If you stake larger bets, this jackpot value increases, there is also a progressive element, so the value of this jackpot will rise over time as players play the slot. The contribution from players isn’t huge, though compared to slots such as Mega Fortune (NetEnt) or Mega Moolah (Microgaming), there are different cross-network pooled progressive slots and a different beast altogether.

Garden of Riches Overall Opinions

Garden of Riches is currently one of our personal favourite Novomatic slots, be aware this machine can be brutal and totally unforgiving if you do not get regular bonuses. Still, the rewards are definitely there, too, with our personal best bonus reaching well over 500x stake already.

The main gripe we have is that because of the progressive element to this slot, the RTP (Return to Player) is 94.25%, which in our opinion is a little low (most Novomatics are generally 95%), but this is mainly due to the progressive element of this slot.

This doesn’t take away from how much of an amazing slot release Garden of Riches is. Just approach with caution regarding betting size, and this will be a slot that hopefully, you should enjoy playing too, especially if you are a fan of Sticky Wilds bonus rounds!
