Mermaid’s Diamond Slot – A new 720-way online slot from Play’n GO
Vera and John Casino has recently added the new Mermaid’s Diamond slot from Play’n GO which is a 5 reel diamond shaped array slot with a 720-way payline structure that looks to be heavily inspired by slots produced by IGT with a few new additions and features.
The reels are made up of several different underwater themed symbols along with the highest paying Diamond symbols, Wilds (Mermaid) and Treasure Chest scatter symbols and a pay both ways payline structure.
There is also a special Trident Wilds feature which can be triggered randomly in the game which can add extra wild symbols onto the reels whilst the reels are spinning thus helping to create more winning combinations.
On top of this, there is also a very nice Divine Intervention feature which comes into play when 4 scatter symbols have landed on the reels, if this feature is triggered it can add the final 5th scatter which is required to trigger the free spins round.

Bonus Features
The main free spins bonus round is triggered by landing 5 of the Treasure Chest Scatter symbols on the reels (1 on each reel), this can be done naturally in the base game or with the help of the Divine Intervention feature which can add a missing treasure chest onto the reels when triggered.
You are then transported to a mini-picking round where selecting 1 of the 5 treasure chests will award you anywhere from 10 free spins up to maximum 25 starting free spins.
You can also earn extra free spins during the bonus round with either 3, 4, 5 scatter symbols landing in view.
During the free spins, there is a new Diamond Collection meter above the slot, as the Diamond symbols land on the reels they are collected and displayed here, once this meter is filled the Trident Wilds feature activates and adds extra wilds onto the reels at the end of that spin.

Overall Thoughts
The Mermaid’s Diamond Slot is a decent release from Play’n Go, the slot is very reminiscent of the IGT 720-way range of slots although this offering looks to be slightly less volatile in nature and at least offers a couple of new innovative features to the base game and bonus game.
Whilst this release is nothing groundbreaking it does offer some fairly solid gameplay and feels to be a medium variance offering, but still with the potential of some very decent wins too if multiple 5 of a kind Diamond combinations are hit when the wilds are added.
