Base Game
The base gameplay is a fairly standard Megaways slot, with regular Chef Hat Wilds present on reels 2 to 5 helping to form wins along with the Meatball Wilds that randomly drop in from the tubes above the reels on reels 2 to 5 also.
Triggering the bonus feature is slightly unusual relying completely on 5 or more reaction wins (that are easily tracked on each side of the reels) to trigger the main bonus feature.
- Chef Hat Wild Symbols – These regular wild symbols appear on reels 2 to 5 only and act as a regular wild symbol when forming any wins, subsequently they are removed from the reels entirely when a winning combination is formed.

The Spicy Meatballs Megaways slot is a fairly average Megaways slot release from Big Time Gaming in our honest opinion, we felt it really lacked some interesting random base game features to keep us entertained and as a result, we really were just continually hoping for a bonus trigger (the reality being tabbed out and waiting for a bonus round while playtesting which is a never a good sign).
Whilst this certainly isn’t the most grindy Megaways slot we have played in terms of triggering bonuses, they do actually come quite frequently, but let us just agree the base game isn’t that exciting.
The bonuses themselves can be particularly frustrating too, although Meatball Wilds will drop onto the reels on every single free spin, if they are towards the right side reels (4 and 5) this can still make it very difficult to score any wins with bonus rounds ending in less impressive 50x wins.
The animations delay on all this taking place is just long enough for you to roll your eyes at the screen as you have already visually worked out there are no wins being formed type scenario.
