We Check Out Wild Frames From Play’n GO a Classicly Themed but Modern Grid Style Slot!
Casumo Casino has recently added the Wild Frames slot from Play’n GO to their casino, their final slot release of 2019.
Wild Frames is another grid-based release that doesn’t come with a main triggerable bonus round. Instead, various unique features can be applied to the grid after scoring successive wins with the cluster pay format.
A handy counter to the machine’s right keeps a running tally of how many symbols you have collected from winning combinations. When you reach these targets (20, 40, 60, 80), a unique feature comes into play when the natural wins have run out, hopefully creating further wins and reaching the next mini-feature.
These mini-features increase with potency at each level, starting with Transform, Wildcard, Shatter and finally Wild Frames.
The Wild symbols play an extra unique role on this slot as wins created with these symbols add a Wild Frame onto the grid. Further wild wins on this square will then add a multiplier value to this frame. When you finally reach the final Wild Frame feature, this will convert every wild frame into wild symbols, so the more you can create before reaching this feature, the better!
One more randomly activated feature named Wildcard can occur by adding randomly placed wilds to the grid, which can help kick start the winning combinations.

Bonus Features
Charge Meter
Apart from the randomly added wilds feature that occurs, all of this slots special features are triggered by filling up the charge meter with winning symbols. These features are then played out after no more winning combinations are created on the grid.
The features are as follows,
- 20 Charges – Transform – High paying symbols are transformed into one matching symbol.
- 40 Charges – Wildcard – Anywhere from 3-6 Wilds are added randomly to the grid.
- 60 Charges – Shatter – All of the low paying symbols are removed from the grid
Wild Frames Feature
When you manage to reach 80 Charges, the Wild Frames feature activates. All of the Wild Frames created up to this point will have a wild symbol placed into them, and with multipliers also possible, this can create some huge wins if lots of the grid is then transformed into wilds.
The Charge Meter can also be overcharged. Two extra frames are added to the grid for every ten charges above the 80-meter level, one in a new position and one creating a multiplier frame.

Wild Frames slot is a decent release if you are a fan of the cascading grid-style machine. The lack of the main bonus round is somewhat negated by the final Wild Frames feature, resulting in some massive wins, especially if you manage to overcharge the meter to add even more Wild Frames and multipliers onto the grid.
Our playtests had mixed results from the final features, with wins from around 50x stake wins to over 300x stake wins. Undoubtedly much bigger wins are possible if you get some larger multipliers onto the grid before the final feature triggers.
The main downside is the dead periods in between these prominent features and the frustration of filling the charge meter to 79 and just missing out on the grand finale feature, definitely a slot that favours patient players and fans of this type of grid slot already.
Worth a play if only to see the Wild Frames feature play out a few times!
