Let us not pretend here that the Cash Truck slot from Quickspin is anything but a direct competitor to Money Train 2. They have not tried to hide the fact, given the title of the game, the opposite is true!
For a good reason, this has been a very popular slot style in the last few years, so having a slot like this in your brands' portfolio makes sense. The tentative setting for this machine, which ends up being the back of a truck, sets a scene of a post-apocalyptic world, with a gang of wasteland warriors armed with homemade weapons looking to rob this piggy bank of cash. A distinct mix of Mad Max visuals and a cartoony twist sets the scene nicely.
Although we would have loved to see more interactions from the Wasteland warriors being more central to the special features. Instead, you get a glimpse of them in the rearview mirror.
On first thought, this seems like a missed opportunity, with regular basic symbols such as grappling hooks appearing on the reels when it could have been an interaction from a thief inside the truck being fired at the reel set!
Cash Truck - Base Gameplay
The base gameplay on Cash Truck takes place on a reasonably typical is a 5x4-reel layout and uses tumbling reels for new symbols to drop into place and the chance of scoring further wins. A "ways" payline system is used, and the current amount of ways is displayed at the top of the reels (1024 by default).
Above the standard reel set are three more rows of symbols that start off being locked, but as you land wins in the base game, these symbols randomly start to get revealed and expand the play area up a maximum of 5x7 reel set by the same nature increasing the number of winning ways dramatically.
While the base game does an excellent job of keeping the play interesting essentially with this style of slot, the primary win potential is contained within the bonus feature. So triggering the bonus round is the prime objective here!
Second Chance Scatter
If there are 2 Scatter symbols visible in the play area during a spin, the Second Chance Scatter feature will trigger after all wins have been completed. The Cash Truck slot from Quickspin makes no apologies for taking a lot of influence from the very popular Money Train / Money Cart style of slots, and who can blame then when it has proven to be such a popular concept for players, with a mix of clever symbol interactions and eye-watering win potential when everything goes according to plan.
The base gameplay on Cash Truck does feel a little more engaging to play compared, with the expanding play area and Second Chance Scatter features providing some exciting play. However, the base gameplay on all of these styles of slots is a distraction to what is really on offer, and the bonus round doesn’t disappoint.
The unlockable area at the top of the slot is the key feature to unlock with the Expander symbols. Super Booster and Super Grabber symbols can quickly catapult the wins to crazy levels. Even the Doubler symbol arriving early into the play area can also signify decent wins.
Overall, this will appeal to the same players who enjoy Money Train 2, the max win may well be lower, but honestly, a 25,000x stake is plenty for a max win.
