Fire Hopper Slot - Base Gameplay
The base gameplay in Fire Hopper takes place in a 7x7 grid. The backdrop is a tranquil pond with a mix of lotus flowers making up the grid of paying symbols.
There are no paylines as such on this machine. Instead, this machine uses a Cluster Pays system of matching coloured symbols to create wins, with five or more clustered symbols required to form a win.
Cascading wins are also included here, so new symbols drop into the grid from the top of the reel set when wins are formed.

Leaping Frog
The Fire Frog is the crucial symbol on this machine. Several extra symbols, such as Coin Prizes, Firefly Wilds and Firefly Bonus, will only get activated when the Fire Frog appears on the grid and interacts with them.
The Leaping Frog feature activates when any of these extra symbols and the Fire Frog are visible on the grid, leaping to collect these features leaving behind a Golden Fire Frog, which acts as a wild and raising the Multiplier value of the Fire Frog.
This leaping mechanic will occur several times when multiple special symbols are on the reels and provide a nice boost to base game wins, particularly for the Coin Prize based rewards.
The bonus round trigger requires two of these key symbols, the special Firefly Bonus symbol and the Fire Frog, to appear on the grid simultaneously. This will trigger the bonus round after all winning combinations have been paid out.
There is a hefty reliance on multiplier values on this machine, so this Leaping Frog feature can act as a nice boost to the bonus round before it has even started.

Fire Hopper - Special Features
Free Spins
The Free Spins round is triggered when the Fire Frog and Firely Bonus symbol land on the grid simultaneously. Once any wins have been paid out, the bonus round is activated, and the accumulated Multiplier value on the Fire Frog is retained for the bonus round.
In Fire Hopper, you are limited to 7 free spins during the bonus. All of the same symbols and functionality are present during the bonus round, with the addition that the Multiplier Frog value does not reset until the bonus round end.
This means the Multipliers can quite easily reach 10x and, on occasion, levels much higher than this value. From there, it is literally hoping for a cluster of 2 or 3 wild multiples to form a cluster win to produce some spectacular hits.

The Fire Frog is the key symbol to look out for on Fire Hopper as this symbol is the requirement to activate all of the other special symbols on this machine.
The Leaping Frog mechanic sees the Frog hop all over the grid, collecting any special symbols in view, leaving behind Golden Multiplier Frogs in positions it has landed.
The Fire Frog interacts with the Coin Prize Symbols, Firefly Wild symbols and of course, the Firefly Bonus Symbol. All three of these will also leave behind a Golden Multiplier Wild symbol.
If Multiplier values have been attained, these are applied to the successive wins also. If multiple multiplier wilds form part of the same cluster of wins, these values are multiplied together!

When the Fire Frog symbol lands on the grid and any Firefly symbols are in view, the frog will leap across the grid and consume these symbols leaving behind a Multiplier Gold Frog Wild symbol.
The value of this multiplier increases each time the frog leaps, starting at 1x and increasing by 1x for each jump.

Golden Multiplier Frog
The Golden Multiplier Frog symbol is created when the Fire Frog consumes a Firefly symbol. This acts as a Wild substitution symbol and contains a multiplier value based on how many leaps the frog has currently taken.
The Golden Multiplier Frog will only stay on the grid for one cluster win. Unlike the Fire Frog, it isn't retained on the reels after wins.
During the bonus round, the values of these multipliers are retained for the duration of the free spins round. As such, it can grow to tremendous value. The Fire Frog will always display the current multiplier value you have reached.
10x Golden Multiplier Frog

The Firefly Bonus Symbol is the critical symbol required to trigger the free spins round. As you might have guessed by now, you also need the Fire Frog to appear during the same spin.

The novel feature of these coin prizes is that Multiplier values are also applied to these wins. During the bonus round, this can skyrocket the value of such rewards.

The Fire Hopper has a maximum win limit built into it of 50,000x where the game round will end and present this golden frog screen. This is mainly down to just how volatile this machine is.
The Multiplier frog values are multiplicative, so when they form cluster wins and several of these are combined the multiplier values get multiplied by each other.

If you check out the screenshots earlier you will see a 15x, 16x and 17x multiplier all forming part of a win, creating a staggering 4080x multiplier which even when applied to a small cluster win results in a huge win.
Bonus Buys
Push Gaming has recently introduced a Bonus Buy feature to its slots. Where allowed (country-specific), this feature is activated by clicking the small Star Icon just above the Spin icon.
The bonus buys feature instantly triggers the main bonus round at the current bet level, and on this slot costs 124x Stake to trigger it. A final confirmation screen informs you of the total cost, along with a bet size toggle (+-) to raise or lower the current bet.

The Fire Hopper slot from Push Gaming is another superb release. Whilst it may not possess all of the clever nuances of the very popular Jammin Jars 2, it does offer some very similar gameplay with a few twists, primarily with the added wilds and how the multipliers increase in value.
Make no mistakes. You are dealing with another very high variance and volatile machine, do not be fooled by the cartoon-like design. This is a heavy-hitting machine with max wins limited to a 50,000x stake!
The addition of a Bonus Buy feature by Push Gaming has been implemented very well, giving you the option to bypass the base gameplay, which is a little lacking, and head straight into the volatile bonus round where most of this slots potential seems to be.
As with Jammin Jars, to key to the most significant wins is a reliance on several multiplier wilds contributing to a cluster win of symbols. The multiplicative nature of these symbols means that when 2 or 3 are combined, the wins instantly get boosted to epic proportions. In addition, with Fire Hopper, you also have the Prize Coins, which can get multiplied too, so if you are fortunate and get a 1000x coin in the bonus round, this will also get multiplied once the Fire Frog leaps into it!
Overall, if you enjoyed either of the Jammin Jars slots, you will probably love this release too, although maybe not quite as much as the Wild Multiplier mechanic didn’t seem as engaging as Jammins in our playtests. Overall though, another highly polished and entertaining slot well worth a play!
