True Grit Redemption Special Features and Bonuses
There are a whole host of special symbols and features present on True Grit that can all interact with each other. We have broken down the key unique features below, which should help you understand how the gameplay on this machine works.
Grit Symbol
The Grit Girl acts as the tragic central character to this slot, present on reels 1-4 only and highlighted with a gold outline to signify that is is the highest paying symbol on this machine. Pays for this symbol aren't reliant on ways but instead will pay like Scatter symbols with three or more required to produce a win.
- Grit Girl symbols on three reels have a base payout of x25.
- Grit Girl symbols on four reels have a base payout of x500.
The critical addition to this feature that can produce massive wins is that the Grit Girl symbol wins are multiplied by the multiplier on the sticky Wild in the bottom reel. This value can rise to massive levels during the bonus rounds and is shown visually on the Grit Girl symbols (see screenshots).
One small interaction which might go unnoticed is that the Reel Split feature does not split the Grit Girl symbol. Instead, it doubles the current payout multiplier!
Grit Symbol
xNudge Wilds
The xNudge is a stacked Wild symbol that exists in the bottom reel that will always nudge to fully visible when landing in view, used on many previous NoLimit slots.
Each nudge increases the Wild multiplier by 1x,. If this nudges over a Wild, an extra +1x is added to the Wild multiplier is added.
An excellent addition is that if the xNudge Wild is not included in the win, it will nudge up again for an increased Wild multiplier in the subsequent spin. Think of this as a more potent second chance of scoring a big win when it occurs.
Of course, it wouldn't be a NoLimit slot if the chance of multiple xNudges on multiple reels wasn't possible, and these will add together to create a total Wild multiplier value!
xNudge Wild Symbol
xWays and Infectious xWays
The Reel split symbol only appears in the special bottom reel section, when landing in view it doubles all the symbols above it on the main reel.
After this, it will be removed causing a bottom reel collapse for new symbols to appear in view. In essence, a small feature that can produce some interesting combos depending on the subsequent symbols appearing.
Reel Split
The xWays symbols can appear anywhere but in the top reel, whilst the Infectious xWays symbol will only appear in the special bottom reel positions.
Used frequently in NoLimit slots, the xWays symbols transform into a regular paying symbol and reveals 2-3 symbols of the same kind and, by doing so, increase the number of win ways from the default value.
The Infectious xWays will reveal only two symbols, but when activated, they infect all other same symbols on the main reel set. With many matching symbols, this can add a lot of extra ways and winning combinations to the reels.
Free Spins Rounds
In True Grit, there are two main bonus rounds the Torture Spins and Dead Spins, with the ability to upgrade to the Dead Spins during the bonus round of the Torture Spins.
Torture Spins
To trigger the regular Torture Spins requires the standard 3 Scatter symbols and awards 8+ Torture Spins. The additional spins come from any Scatters affected by Reel Splits and award +1 spin per extra part of the split symbol.
There are increased ways during the bonus round thanks to the unlocked reel positions that remain unlocked for the entire free spins round.
During the bonus, the Grit Girl symbol also benefits from the sticky multiplier Wild in the bottom right corner, and this value increases during wins. This Multiplier value is retained for the entire bonus feature.
To upgrade this bonus feature, you simply need to land a fourth Scatter symbol, which elevates the bonus round into Dead Spins adding +2 spins and possibly a few more if you are fortunate, and the Scatter symbol also gets split!
Dead Spins
To trigger the Dead Spins bonus round requires 4 Scatter symbols and awards 10+ Torture Spins. The additional spins come from any Scatters affected by Reel Splits and award +1 spin per extra part of the split symbol.
Like in the previous bonus feature, the active game area is expanded. The essential addition here is that the sticky Wild with a multiplier in the
bottom right corner is active for the duration of the bonus round. This is only active for the Grit Girl pays in the Torture spins.
Some critical values here are the chance of triggering the bonuses, with Torture Spins being 1/~210, and the Dead Spins a much more challenging to trigger 1/~28k chance.
The good news here is that the chance of upgrading to this super bonus is around a 1/~20 chance!
But looking at the chance of triggering the bonus should give you a good indication of how potent a regular four scatter trigger could potentially be!
Maximum Win Cap - No More Grit to be Found
If you are extremely lucky and hit the Maximum Win cap of 20220x which has a chance that is extremely good for a super high volatile slot of ~1 in 6M rounds, then you will trigger the very sombre No More Grit to be Found win animation, which we can only assume is Grit Girl being eaten by wolves.

Pigeonholing this machine feels very difficult, with a theme similar to Dead or Alive 2, the basic tumbling mechanics of Gonzos Quest, but with so much more added to the gameplay, variance and volatility only seen in previous NoLimit Slots.
For new players to the brand, the overall mechanics might seem overwhelming. Still, for seasoned players, it doesn’t take too long to realise what produces the massive hits, and if you want to see these features in action, make use of the leaderboard, and game replays found built into the slot to see when the right symbol line up what this slot can produce.
