We Explore Play’n Go’s Latest Vibrant Slot Release – Rainforest Magic!

Rainforest Magic uses a regular 5×3 reel set and comes with 25 fixed paylines, the main feature to this slot are the special Mystery Symbols which are present in both the base game and in a much more potent form during the bonus rounds, when landing on the reels these symbols will all reveal a randomly selected matching symbol, nothing we haven’t seen before in terms of mechanics but the bonus round does ramp up this feature quite a lot.
Whilst these Mystery Symbols aren’t too frequent in the base gameplay you can be awarded from a simple picking bonus screen up to 4 complete reels of Mystery symbols during the free spins bonus rounds making big wins quite a regular possibility.
There are some huge potential wins on offer but more realistic base game and bonus round single spin hits seem to be around the 100x stake level when lots of matching symbols land in view, but be aware that these mystery symbols can reveal wilds where the biggest wins will come from (1000x stake).
The main bonus round did seem to trigger quite frequently in our playtests and requires a number of wild symbols rather than the usual scatters to trigger it, more wilds in view leads to more starting free spins!

Mystery Symbols are present on all reels and will land on the reels at random and then transform into matching symbols which on rare occasions will also include Wilds

The main bonus round is triggered by landing 3 or more Wilds anywhere on the reels, this includes natural wilds or wilds revealed from the Mystery Symbols.
3 wilds will grant just 6 Free Spins, but this value increases in increments (6 wilds 12 free spins) for any additional wilds up the maximum starting 30 free spins.
A simple flower picking bonus screen is then awarded where you reveal how many Mystery Reels will be features in the bonus round, this can range from just 1 up to the maximum 4 reels and these will then be randomly placed during each and every free spin during the bonus.

Overall Opinions
There is nothing too extraordinary about the Rainforest Magic slot, it’s a solid 25 payline slot capable of producing some nice wins but we felt it lacked that “wow” factor feeling of excitement and anticipation that going to make you rush and play it over other slots.
In our playtests we did manage several base game and bonus rounds well over 100x stake, along with several bonuses with 4 linked reels so there are definitely a number of reasons to check this slot out, but in terms of lasting fun we would have liked to see more exciting features than a simple bonus select and linked reels which can also be very disappointing with just 1 or 2 linked reels awarded, even 4 linked reels can still lead to average bonus rounds!
Only really worth a look if you are a fan of linked reels slot such as Twin Spin, its a slightly different twist here but similar in style.
