This retro-themed slot uses a classic 3 reel design and is similar in style to their Hit It Big slot with a few difference in the boardgame style bonus feature.

The main annoyance with the bonus feature is the continuous “spin to win” requirement, failing to land a paying win as you progress around the board results in the bonus round ending abruptly, and this can occur quite quickly after triggering the bonus feature.

Wild Respin
The multiplier wilds that are present on the 3rd reel will lock and grant a re-spin of the other two reels when no win that uses this wild is in view.
This mini-feature occurs quite frequently in the base game and can also be triggered during the bonus features when the multiplier free spins are awarded from the board game.
Bonus Feature
The main bonus feature is triggered by landing the special dice symbol in the middle of the 3rd reel, you then get a random roll of the dice and start to progress around the board game.
There are a number of mini-features in the corners of the board along with free spins with various multipliers applied. When landing on the free spins however you must score at least one winning combination to keep progressing around the board of the bonus round ends.

Overall Opinions
We really had mixed opinions about the Hit It Hard slot from ELK Studios as they generally have done a great job in providing a lot of entertainment from the classic 3 reel slots, this slot has a glimpse of that with the novel mini-features during the bonus round but this was heavily overshadowed by the frustrating bonus mechanics.
The combination of quite a low “hit frequency” coupled with a bonus mechanic that requires a winning spin to keep the bonus round active actually feels quite frustrating, especially if you waited for a long period of spins to trigger the bonus and it’s over after the first dice roll.
Our extended playtest did produce several wins over 200x stake thanks to multiplier wins and the Pachinko games, but if we were playing this slot for real money would have left well before this time due to the frustrating bonus feature.
There are definitely some good points to this slot, but you will have to be a very patient player to enjoy this release!
